We have not even reached the top end of Walney yet so lots more to do! A few statistics below to show you how busy the beach cleaning teams have been below: Aug13-Feb14 Aug14-Feb15 No. of people who took part 24 13 Total No. of man hours 292 177 No. of beach cleans 31 19 Total weight of hand-picked rubbish collected 1588kg 2069kg If you are interested in helping the campaign to keep our beaches clean and safe, just get in touch and we will let you know when the next beach clean is due to take place. Please note that beach cleaning is suspended from 1st March and 31st July each year so that shore nesting birds such as Ringed Plovers and Oystercatchers are not disturbed.
