Robert Jukes is the Health, Safety and Environment Manager for Wax lyrical Ltd, the UK’s largest home fragrance manufacturer and part of the Portmeirion Group. The 27-year-old is currently studying the NEBOSH Diploma and the MSc in Occupational Health, Safety and Environment at Manchester Metropolitan University and, in his spare time, produces articles for SHP and volunteers as a committee member of the Keswick to Barrow Walk. Robert also volunteers as a mentor in the Safety4Good Scheme and is involved in the IOSH and IIRSM Mentoring programs.
Robert scooped SHP’s Rising Star for Manufacturing and Rising Star UK at Safety & Health Expo in June. He enthralled the judges by “his commitment to learning more and working away from home is excellent, engaging with local communities with a heavy focus on wellbeing.

Helps coordinate the beach cleaning campaign established by the Forum at North Walney National Nature Reserve in August 2013 and continues to present.
Ewan’s day job is in the Business Support Team at Furness College.
